Insurance for laundromats and dry cleaners
From coin and card self-service laundromats and wash and fold services to dry cleaners and commercial laundries, we arrange insurance for laundry businesses Australia-wide.
Your machines work hard, your floors get wet and your customers trust you with their clothes. We compare cover across a range of insurers and help you set up protection that fits the way you operate.
Covers to consider
Every business is different. Depending on what you do, a sensible program may include:
Business pack
Fire, storm, theft, glass and damage to your fit-out, machines and stock, combined in one policy.
Machinery and equipment breakdown
Sudden mechanical or electrical breakdown of washers, dryers, boilers, presses and dry cleaning machines.
Customer goods in your care
Bailee cover for garments, linen and items you hold, clean, alter or deliver for customers.
Public liability
Injury to customers or visitors, such as a slip on a wet floor, and damage to other people's property.
Business interruption
Lost income and extra costs if a fire, flood or major breakdown stops you trading.
Money
Cash in change machines, coin boxes and tills, on site and in transit to the bank.
Management liability
Employment disputes, statutory fines and claims against owners and directors.
Cyber and card payment fraud
Payment system outages, card data breaches, ransomware and fraudulent transactions.
Pickup and delivery vehicles
Commercial motor cover for vans, plus goods in transit for customer laundry on the road.
Who it's for
- Coin and card laundromats
- 24-hour self-service laundries
- Wash and fold services
- Dry cleaners
- Commercial laundries
- Linen hire and laundry services
- Ironing and alterations
- Pickup and delivery laundries
Many shopping centre and retail leases ask for a certificate of currency and a minimum public liability limit before you can trade.
Real risks we help you plan for
Fire in dryers
Lint build-up and overheating dryers are a well-known cause of laundry fires.
Machine breakdowns
A failed boiler or bank of washers can stop wash and fold or dry cleaning work for days.
Damaged garments
A customer says a suit, wedding dress or uniform was ruined or lost while with you.
Wet floors
Water, detergent and lint on the floor create slip hazards for customers and staff.
Break-ins and vandalism
Coin boxes, change machines and unattended sites attract thieves.
Water damage
Burst hoses and blocked drains can damage your premises and the shop next door.

Frequently asked questions
Are customers' clothes covered if they're damaged or lost while in our care?
Not automatically. A standard business pack usually excludes other people's property in your care. Bailee cover, often called customer goods cover, can protect garments and linen while you hold, clean or deliver them. We check the limits per item and in total suit your volumes.
Is machine breakdown covered by my business pack?
Usually only if you add machinery or equipment breakdown cover. It can cover sudden electrical or mechanical breakdown of washers, dryers, boilers and pressing equipment, and some policies also cover the lost income while machines are out of action.
What if a customer slips on a wet floor in our laundromat?
Public liability is designed for claims that someone was injured or their property damaged because of your business. Insurers will want to know about your cleaning routines, signage, matting and whether the site is unattended.
Can you insure an unattended 24-hour self-service laundromat?
Yes, subject to insurer acceptance. Insurers will ask about CCTV, alarms, lighting, access hours, coin and card handling, and how often the site is checked.
Do we need cover for our pickup and delivery vans?
If you collect and deliver laundry, you'll want commercial motor cover for the vehicles, plus goods in transit or bailee cover for customer items while they're on the road. We can arrange both.

Insurance for gyms, studios and personal trainers
From 24/7 gyms and boutique studios to yoga and pilates, martial arts, bootcamps and mobile personal trainers, we arrange insurance for fitness businesses Australia-wide.
When people exercise, injuries happen, and your equipment and fit-out are expensive to replace. We compare cover across a range of insurers and help you set up protection that fits the way you train.
Covers to consider
Every business is different. Depending on what you do, a sensible program may include:
Public liability
Injury to members, clients or visitors, such as a slip in the change rooms or equipment failure on the gym floor.
Professional indemnity
Claims that your instruction, programming or advice caused injury or loss, for example an unsuitable program or poor supervision.
Business pack
Fit-out, equipment, stock, glass, theft and business interruption if your gym cannot open after an insured event.
Portable equipment
Weights, mats, kettlebells, bikes and gear you take to parks, homes and outdoor sessions.
Management liability
Employment disputes, statutory fines and claims against owners and directors.
Cyber insurance
Membership system outages, payment data breaches and ransomware.
Who it's for
- Gyms and 24/7 gyms
- Personal trainers
- Group fitness and bootcamps
- Yoga and pilates studios
- Martial arts and boxing
- CrossFit and functional training
- Dance studios
- Online coaches
Many councils, parks and leisure centres ask trainers for a certificate of currency and a minimum public liability limit before you can run sessions.
Real risks we help you plan for
Client injuries
A client is hurt during a session and says the exercise was unsafe or poorly supervised.
Equipment failure
A cable snaps or a machine fails, injuring a member.
Unsupervised hours
24/7 access gyms carry extra risk when no staff are on site.
Outdoor sessions
Park and beach sessions bring uneven ground, weather and members of the public into play.
Theft and break-ins
Expensive equipment and electronics are a target, on site and in vehicles.
Advice beyond training
Nutrition or rehab guidance outside your qualifications can fall outside your cover.

Frequently asked questions
Do personal trainers need both public liability and professional indemnity?
Most do. Public liability covers injury or property damage, while professional indemnity covers claims that your instruction or advice was negligent. Many fitness policies combine both, and many industry bodies and venues expect both.
Am I covered training clients in parks or their homes?
Many fitness policies cover sessions at multiple locations, but some limit cover to listed premises. We check that your policy covers everywhere you train, and that council permit requirements can be met.
Does my policy cover online coaching?
Not always. Online and international clients can be excluded or restricted. Tell us how you deliver sessions and we'll find suitable cover.
Are member waivers enough to protect my gym?
Waivers can help, but they don't remove every legal liability and won't pay your legal costs. Insurance is still important.
Can you insure a 24/7 access gym?
Yes, subject to insurer acceptance. Insurers will want details of access control, CCTV, emergency procedures and staffed hours.
